New playground designs
After an incredibly competitive tender process BCP Council appointed Jupiter Play & Leisure to design and install the two new play areas in Poole Park.
Consultation first took place during the development phase of the Poole Park Life project and the new concept designs were carefully drafted to meet the key points of the consultation:
- Exciting large play pieces e.g. tunnels, zip wires, wobbly bridge, giant slide, parkour
- Challenging play for older children, plus something for under 5’s
- Opportunities for accessible play. Sensory play e.g. mirrors, musical instruments, talking tubes, planting. Accessible equipment e.g. swing, roundabout, see-saw
- Be in keeping with the Poole Park’s Victorian heritage and landscape
- Seating for young people, parents and grandparents

2. The Plant Explorers playground at Cygnet, next to the Ark Café
Designed to stimulate the senses of children of all ages & abilities!

Both bespoke designs follow a theme inspired by Victorian Plant Hunters, telling the stories of brave explorers taking perilous journeys and exploring unknown, undisturbed lands to bring home exotic specimens.
Jupiter created concept designs for both playgrounds for comment; the pdf downloads above are copies of display boards that were exhibited on playground railings in the park Oct-Dec 2020.
