Poole Park Heritage Interpretation Scheme 2021

ENHANCING THE PARK EXPERIENCE FOR LOCAL PEOPLE AND VISITORS ALIKE

As part of the Poole Park Life project, and working with consultants Imagemakers, we have an exciting new interpretation scheme planned for Poole Park!

Interpretation is described as “an educational activity which aims to reveal meanings and relationships through the use of original objects, by first-hand experience, or by illustrative media, rather than simply to communicate factual information” (Tilden, 2007, Interpreting Our Heritage)

The plans include information boards, heritage interpretation, an illustrative view of Victorian Poole Park, postcard frame viewers and cut out silhouettes of historical characters, many of which are illustrated and described in the PDF download:

Voices from the Past

A series of nine imagined short audio stories, each linked to a different location in the park. Look out for the QR codes printed on the new Interpretation Panels, and listen to the stories as you explore the park.
