Earlier in the year a Community choir concert was held, starring the BitterSweet Harmony and CareFree choirs, who often perform to support local charities. In conjunction with the Poole Park Heritage Group, the choirs performed a number of songs and raised an amazing £500 that will go towards the Quiet garden project in Poole Park, on the site of the old Go-kart track.
The Carefree Choir is for registered carers, for many it is their only weekly break from caring, they perform together for charity throughout the year and at care homes. The concert ended with both the choirs on stage and the audience singing Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” together. The choir hope to make this an annual event and also we hope they are able to perform at an official opening event for the quiet garden later in the year.
