Improvements at the Poole Park War Memorial are progressing well, after just two weeks of construction the main path around the cross is starting to stretch out, the new Purbeck Stone slabs looking stunning against the red brick of the raised plinth and surrounding planting.
On the other side of the road the levels are being set for the new accessible path, the soil for the new roses has been imported and the path is marked out for the new entrance from Parkstone Road.
Plans are also being developed for an opening event on Saturday 10th November, dove-tailing with other events around the Borough to mark the WWI centenary and the annual parade. Watch this space as more details will be released nearer the time.
With thanks to the War Memorial Trust and Lottery Players and the Heritage Lottery Fund for making it possible.
