If you have braved this week’s blustery winds to visit Poole Park you may have noticed some new arrivals in advance of the War Memorial Re-Opening event this Saturday (10am-1pm)…

  • Red ribbons wrapped around trees, the amount of ribbon getting greater the nearer you get to the War memorial along the processional route taken on Remembrance Day
  • British legion soldier silhouettes installed in the War Memorial garden
  • and today the Memorial gates have been installed having been fully restored and looking good as new, with replacement scrolls, features, latches and locks.

Please see the Facebook Event page for more details on Saturday’s event.

Please note that the road through Poole Park will remain closed for the event, however access in to the park will be as normal, allowing access to all car parks and facilities. The road will be closed near the War Memorial, and allowing disabled access close to the memorials for those that need it.
