This week the Big Lottery, who co-fund the Poole Park Life project with the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF), are celebrating the difference that national lottery players make to communities across the UK by using #ThanksToYou on social media.

This week we officially opened the Quiet garden in Poole Park and this was funded by a Tesco Bags for Life grant of £8,000, but the same again has come from our HLF grant, and therefore funded by national lottery players.

All of our work on Poole Park Life in the next three and a half years is funded in the same way so we would like to say #Thanks to you for allowing us to improve Poole Park with the grant of £2.7m from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The 6 Project themes:

#Thankstoyou Poole Park lagoon and lakes will be improved, creating habitats for wildlife and sustaining water sport activities

#Thanks to you exciting new play areas and outdoor adult fitness equipment will be installed

#Thanks to you access in to and around Poole Park will be greatly improved for all park users

#Thanks to you great new garden spaces will be developed in Poole Park, alongside the restoration of  heritage features and improved landscaping

#Thanks to you Poole Park will be better lit at night, have new information, signage and interpretation points

#Thanks to you the Geese and Wildlife in Poole Park will be better managed and biodiversity increased.

Community engagement work:

#Thanks to you Poole Park has a new Quiet garden, now officially opened by the Mayor of Poole

#Thanks to you we are able to support volunteering and help local people to take pride in Poole Park
