The islands in Poole Park lagoon are to receive a spruce-up and Borough of Poole will be holding a practical volunteer event from 1pm on Weds 20th September to make some improvements.

With support from Rockley Watersports we hope to clear litter, improve the fencing that keeps the Geese off of the islands and undertake some planting. The lagoon level is being lowered as part of the monthly flushing regime allowing us to improve the island edges.

Some volunteers from our regular gardening group have expressed an interest and numbers are limited because of access and safety considerations. However, if you are interested in helping to improve the islands please get in touch with Martin:
e-mail: m.whitchurch@poole.gov.uk
or call 01202 261323

We also hope to be able to have some information available to people if they would like to come and find out about the future works for the lagoon, as part of the HLF project. There is also more information here on the lakes and lagoons.
