How we look after your personal information

The Borough of Poole Environmental Development Team takes your privacy seriously; below we explain how, when and why we collect personal information from you, how we store it and how you can exercise your rights in relation to any personally identifiable information we hold.

What information is being collected?

When you visit our website we automatically collect statistical data that will include your IP address, your operating system, your browser ID and your browsing activity. We collect this information through the use of Google Analytics, a free web analytics service that tracks and reports website traffic. The information collected does not relate to you as an individual and is collected to provide us with an understanding of the areas of most interest on our site.

When you contact us by telephone or email you will voluntarily provide us with personal information that is likely to include (but may not be limited to) your name, telephone number and email address. We collect and store this information in order to respond to your communication. By providing us with this information you consent to it being collected and stored by Borough of Poole as described in this Privacy Notice.

When you sign up to the Borough of Poole Parks & Open Spaces Newsletter we will collect only your email address. Borough of Poole use the GovDelivery platform provided by Granicus for email newsletters. We will only send you regular updates* on the topics you have subscribed to. You can manage your account or unsubscribe from this service at any time. Granicus stores you data in the US and is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield framework. When you sign up to an email newsletter you agree to your data being stored in this way; further information is available at the GovDelivery Privacy Policy.

* We may also contact you in a situation when as a local authority we have a duty to inform residents.

Who is collecting the information?

Borough of Poole is the owner of the information collected, whether that is during your visit to this website, when you telephone or email the contact numbers or email addresses provided, or when you sign up to email newsletters.

How will it be used?

The information will be used solely for the purposes it has been collected and/or provided. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information. The servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure environment.

We do not tolerate spam; we will never send you unsolicited email nor will we sell, share or rent any part of your personal information with any third party unless required to do so by law or where in good faith we believe such action is necessary to comply with a legal process.

Your choices
