From Monday 10th February the lagoon will be drained down to allow the Council to repair areas of concrete promenade and walls. These will be very localised repairs and the length of drain down will depend on the progress of works.

Along the Carriage Drive two locations have recently had trenching works across the road. The area by the War Memorial is having new irrigation infrastructure put in that will allow easier watering of the War Memorial garden and Rose bed planter in the summer. Temporary surfacing has been used as this area will be improved as part of the Access theme works.

The second location near to Middle Gate entrance and car park is future-proofing in advance of re-surfacing works, laying new water mains under the road.

We are waiting for final approvals before hopefully appointing a contractor for the Access theme improvements soon.

Finally, work has started on improvements to the public toilets at Westfield, alternative temporary toilets are available nearby, or at the public toilets at The Ark.
