Welcome! The Poole in Bloom competition seeks to celebrate all the hard work that local community groups, businesses, and households put in to make Poole a beautiful place to live.

Residential Classes:

  • Hanging basket(s) and/or Window Boxes
  • Front Patio must be at ground level and/or Container Garden
  • Balcony Display must not be ground level
  • Communal Grounds blocks of flats etc.
  • Mobile Homes private gardens only
  • Small Front Garden not exceeding 100m²
  • Large Front Garden larger than 100m²
  • Small Back Garden not exceeding 100m²
  • Large Back Garden larger than 100m²
  • Wildlife Garden
  • Sensory Garden gardens created which are accessible and encompass the five senses – sight, hearing, touch, smell, taste

Commercial & Public Classes:

  • Commercial Small Public Spaces Arcades, Libraries, Shopping Centres, Bars, Inns, Public Houses, Cafés
  • Commercial Large Public Spaces Arcades, Libraries, Shopping Centres, Bars, Inns, Public Houses, Cafés
  • Loving Care Homes Nursing / Rest Homes
  • Colleges and Places of Learning
  • Bowling Clubs and Sports Facilities
  • Places of Worship
  • Hanging Baskets / Containers
  • Small Hotel / B&B under 20 beds
  • Large Hotel 20 or more beds
  • Sensory Garden gardens created which are accessible and encompass the five senses – sight, hearing, touch, smell, taste

The classes below are open to both Commercial and Residential entries:

Special Trees

Please take a seasonal photo of the tree looking its best for judging in this class

  • Small Ornamental and/or Flowering tree
  • Tree Contributing to Biodiversity – good for bees or provider of habitat or food source for bats, birds or mammals.
  • Champion Tree – notable for its sheer size, age or heritage value, or an example of an uncommon species.

Please note

  • You can enter up to three classes plus the Tree competitions by downloading and completing the Entry Form and ticking the appropriate boxes.
  • No multiple entries will be accepted in any one class.
  • No late entries will be accepted
  • Incomplete or illegible entry forms will be declared void.
  • Classes will be judged in July by visiting judges.
