#Trashtag the hashtag, that has quickly become the most well-known hashtag across environmental circles and a massive viral trend over the last month, is having great benefits in loads of places across the world.

The idea is based around picking an area, and clearing it of all litter then posting a before and after photo and of course making sure to use the hashtag itself to capture the interest of people globally. It has suddenly blown up and there are now hundreds of thousands of before and after photos of beaches, parks, small green areas and many other areas being cleared up in their entirety. As the hashtag has become such a phenomenon we thought it was a great time to promote it in Poole, and an awesome way to kick of tackling litter in the new BCP Council authority. We would love to see your #trashtags across Poole, and even in to Bournemouth and Christchurch, so why not get out there and take action in your local area? Is there somewhere you know is slightly forgotten and a hidden gem that just needs some love? You can always borrow litter picking equipment off of us as well as organise a waste collection through us to carry out a clean up. We would love to see the before and after results, so make sure to tag us in your photos on Facebook and Twitter!

If you would like more information on this you can check out the BBC article below that summarises it and shows some great examples of photos from across the world. We  cant wait to see what you achieve!
