On January 5th 2019 we will be welcoming in the new year with a day of volunteering at Blake Hill Viewpoint!
Towards the end of 2017 and the beginning of this year this viewpoint received a large piece of project work including a new walkway, improved signage and entrance ways as well as woodland thinning and the hanging of bird and bat boxes all in the effort to ever-increase its beauty and accessibility. As part of this work local volunteers and residents took part in and helped to carry out a selection of volunteer days to litter pick and clear the area as well as helping to thin some of the woodland and hang the different wildlife boxes. To finish this project off Poole Enviroteers are running one final day of local community action, a volunteer day on January 5th.
We are looking to mobilise local volunteers to help come out and support the final part of this project, which will include the planting of a dozen fresh trees, litter picking and clearing around the area as well as the creation of new wildlife habitats such as log stacks. It looks to be a great family day out and volunteer opportunity, whilst also being a lovely way to kick-off the new year. If you have never visited the Viewpoint before then this is a great excuse, as it provides a truly beautiful area to spend time and walk through as well as providing some great views.
It will be a great event that we cannot wait to see you at, if you would like more information on this event, make sure to check out our Facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/335957193894986/
