Hands on at Hamworthy Park

Volunteer Opportunity:  Hands on at Hamworthy!

Hands on at Hamworthy – perfect match if you….

  • enjoy working or gardening outdoors
  • are interested in your local community
  • want to be part of a team looking after one of Poole’s loved parks
  • are enthusiastic
  • are a good team player

This volunteer opportunity may be just what you are looking for!

These sessions are run by the Friends of Hamworthy Park.  Volunteer group sessions take place at Hamworthy Park on Wednesday mornings, starting at 10:30am.  At 9:30am there is the opportunity to join in on a Health Walk around the park which takes in the stunning scenery and views.

Weather appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear is recommended.  After the activities, the group go to Hamworthy Park Cafe for refreshments.

Why volunteer at Hamworthy Park?

The Friends of Hamworthy Park are popular and actively working to preserve and improve Hamworthy Park for future generations.  One of the activities that they lead is the Hands on at Hamworthy sessions.

Hands on at Hamworthy sessions include activities such as litter picking, pruning plants and tidying flower beds, and small projects such as the recent removal of the ‘sheep pens’ from the park to improve the area.  These sessions are so popular that the Friends of Hamworthy Park are looking to add additional weekend sessions!
