Sterte Green Play Area

Last updated 27th June 2017

Now officially open!

The new play area was celebrated at an opening event on 24th June

In collaboration with The Pirates of Poole

The project

Local community group, the ‘Sterte Community Garden Association’ - in partnership with Poole Housing Partnership and the Borough of Poole - successfully raised funds for a new play area for the 450 residents who live near by.

Once a design had been selected from competing playground designers contractors from All Play Ireland arrived on site on 8th May 2017; progress was hampered a little by bad weather but the team was finished by 26th May. There was then a period required to allow for new turf to bed in, safety inspections and finishing touches before the official community opening event on 24th June.

The main grant was from the Veolia Environmental Trust through the Landfill Communities Fund.
