Branksome Rec Play Area enhancements
Updated 20th May 2015
Project complete
Following consultation with over 1500 local children in schools, youth clubs and in the play area during the evening last summer, work has now been completed on the replacement of some of the older play equipment at Branksome Recreation Ground, and the repainting of other items.
The old climbing frame has been replaced with a new Wicksteed “XS” climbing frame with high hang bars and high slide.
The old roundabout has been replaced with a new type of roundabout - a Wicksteed “Simulator” which enables users to experience an inclusive multi-directional play experience as they rock and spin. It will be the first of its type in Poole.
The play area is now fully open and children are enjoying the challenges of the new equipment.
Budget: £24,310
Funding: £20,972.65 Planning Obligations (Equipped Children’s Play) £3,337.35 Revenue Budget
